eH880 Secure Smart Card Terminal
The new eH880 Secure Smart Card Terminal is a secure and feature-rich eHealth card terminal dedicated to the global electronic healthcare markets and German eHealth system. This innovative device is capable of facilitating secure mutual authentication (e.g. between a doctor’s and patient’s card), displaying detailed multi-layered information from one or both eHealth cards based on embedded access rights, and facilitating transactions through both private and public network infrastructures.
The industry defining eH880 Secure Smart Card Terminal specifications include a dual smart card interface, USB and RS232 connectivity, integrated TCP/IP networking support, multiple SAM slots, a 128x64 high resolution 2.3 inch black and white graphical LCD, a durable user friendly 20-button keypad, multiple bicolored status LED’s, a highly effective audible speaker, and a real-time onboard clock. This highly efficient tool can also host additional features like high speed WiFi access, an optional contactless card reader module, an optional BIOMETRIC fingerprint sensor just to name a few; which provide unmatched usability and compatibility within any current or future eHealth system. Most importantly, future eH880 terminal firmware updates can be quickly and easily uploaded through the SB, RS232, or Ethernet interface virtually making the eH880 future proof.
The eH880 Secure Smart Card Terminal is professionally designed to be fully Gematik MKT+, eHealth BSC and SICCT/eHealth compliant for using within the new German national eHealth project, such as gematik MKT+, eHealth BSC and SICCT/eHealth. The eH880 reader supports not only the existing patient insurance cards (KVK), but also the upcoming electronic health cards (eHC, HPC & SMC), all the MCU Cards compliant with ISO-7816 Class A, B, C and all the Contactless Cards compliant with ISO-14443 A & B. Having Secure PIN Entry (SPE) feature, the eH880 Secure Smart Card Terminal ensures every authentication between chip and PIN (Personal Identification Number) is processed within the device securely. In addition, all data remains safe under the card-reader environment, as none of them travel between the PC and the device.
